Welcome to Coromandel Valley Primary school.

It is both a privilege and honour to have been appointed Principal of Coromandel Valley Primary School. Coromandel Valley Primary School is highly regarded for excellence in teaching and engaging students in quality learning experiences. Our high standard of achievement is a result of a very dedicated and professional staff who strive to continually improve all that we do. Our vision "Developing Global Learners in a Caring Community", is facilitated through strong community support, active participation and a sense of belonging for all learners.

Coromandel Valley Primary School is located in the picturesque Mitcham Hills, just 14 km south of Adelaide city centre. The school is nestled amongst a beautiful bushland environment with the Sturt river flanking its southern boundary, providing opportunities  to engage in nature play and environmental exploration. We were one of the first Government primary schools established, with a rich history dating back to 1877 when the school first opened. Our student population of approximately 470 students also includes short and long term International students.

We are a recognised and accredited International Baccalaureate World school in the Primary Years Programme, This IB programme provide an excellent framework for delivering all aspects of the Australian Curriculum encouraging academic rigour, inquiry and investigation. All students participate in our specialist subjects; Physical Education, Japanese, Performing Arts, Science and a dance programme.

A wide range of extra-curricula activities are available and include Pedal Prix, Jump Rope, Chess, Festival of Music Choir as well as a range of sporting opportunities. Many of our students are involved in an Instrumental Music programme and a school band proudly performs at our community events. Student Leaders actively encourage a range of student initiated projects that aim to enrich our community and improve wellbeing within the school.

Our partnership with parents, families and the local community is an important feature of our school. We value the support we have from our community who volunteer within the school by; attending camps and excursions, coaching sport, supporting class activities, mentoring students, providing knowledge and experience, joining Governing Council or Parents and Friends.

I look forward to the opportunity to share our school and would invite you to email or phone the school to book in for a Principal's tour, which take place throughout the year.

Kind regards

Rob Warncken
